If you cannot afford an apartment do not move. Do not depend upon a roommate. B-N is a business town and CD forums is not a craignslist or meetup. Units do not generally vacate in the middle of winter. it is usually after school ends in May. Winter wind chill in Illinois can drop to minus - 80F. Some of time it is a comfortable minus -20 below ZERO while the other half of the world is experiencing July temperatures. February is generally colder, but this has been an usual year with its warm temps.

If you are going to meet with State Farm, they may be able to help with housing issues. Realtors can sometimes help. Othewise try the newspaper. Check the weather and classified ads (housing) on the same page:
