Anybody see the press conference???

He is certifiable. He should offer to help OJ look for Nicole's killer, or maybe he and Drew can go looking for Stacy.

Completely whack-O...

If the glove doesn't fit, you can't convict. If he didn't sell it or trade favors for it, and no one can prove he did, he will propbably go on his merry way. IF he did and he sings like a canary the house of cards will fall down and he'll be homeboy's b**ch - if he lives long enough. They don't like rats in the joint either.

Time will tell. It always does.

It seems to me that IL people really don't care about their political freaks too much. As a newcomer here, I am amazed at the lack of political interest (aside from humerous jokes) and real discourse about what is best public policy or practice.

I moved here from WI and while it certainly is not a perfect place, there was a lot more public discourse about things such as:
1) who has the power, 2) what they were up to, 3) should there be change, 4)can we throw the bums out, etc.

Why is there not public outrage and rallies with media coverage in both Chicago and Srpingfield to get people like Blaggo and Stroger to resign? They certainly are not good for the state. At some point doing the right thing must take precedence over pure politics and personal agendas.

The people here are nice but they certainly seem like simpletons when it comes to gov't representation.

I believe that he has a personality disorder! He is in total denial about his performance as governor. He said when he can't do his job, he would step aside. doesn't he realize that he hasn't done his job properly for last 2 to 3 years! We the people of Illinois have suffered immensely at his hands.

The allegations are weak. Doesn't look like anything changed hands. I predict he'll be acquitted, IF it ever even comes to trial. Fitzgerald messed up.

Milorad is an unstable looney bird whose world has been coming undone as his alienation from former supporters grows and his wife's pathetic house-of-card phonie real estate game collapses.

The evidence the US Attorney has against him are some of the most blatant and flagrant conversations that have EVER been recorded about the conspiracies that scum in Illinois politics use to turn taxpayer dollars into their own personal pirates chest.

Only an attorney so shamelessly without ethics that you could defend a child molester like R. Kelly would take such an outrageous case.

If the law makers in the state Senate have any spin they will present the charges of impreachment as swiftly as possible. If the Illinois House of Represntatives has any integrity they then speedily sustain the charges and remove Milorad's pathetic corpse from office.

Then the US Attorney can hold a criminal trial where hopefully not too many gullible fools will be seated on jury and Blago will be convicted, sentenced and incarcerated for a very very very long time.

Hallelujah!! Praise BE and AMEN!!!!

Well, we have rules. Ed Genson is an excellent lawyer who I have known of for more than 30 years. Plus, many folks know that the feds win about 80% of their criminal trials, so they come blazing with all guns.

This will not be an easy case to prosecute. Conspiracy requires that two folks be convicted of plotting together. Bribery requires a clear demonstration that an illegal quid pro quo is going on, not that the governor cusses on the phone. Plus, a judge will have to decide if the phone conversations can be admitted in court or if a jury which has heard of the governor's troubles (and who has not?) can try him impartially.

So Fitzgerald ain't home yet. This is no slam dunk and the governor so far is guilty of nothing.

Impeachment and disbarment do not depend on a criminal conviction, however, so the governor is not out of the woods.

It's pretty clear there is more to the case against Blago then the public is privy to. It's also a fact that Fitzgerald is a savvy enough prosecutor that he wouldn't be bringing a case against a sitting Governor based on some swear words in a phone conversation.
Yep, we have rules, lets hope Blago pays in full for violating them.

p.s. I wouldn't brag about Ed Genson being your "friend".

I have heard one political analyst state that intent is hard to prove, so they may have a hard time convicting him of certain things. But likely certain things will stick. And they still want to know about questionable campaign contributions. There is just so much about him that is questionable - this is going to be going on for a long time til they can straighten out this mess.
