This guy makes repeated speeches about "Not one more dollar of debt for my children to carry on their backs" Then they find he is behind over $117,000 in child support.

In Texas he would be incarcerated. Would anyone vote for him again?

The district he represents has seen lots of turmoil lately. Melisa Bean was way way way way too liberal for the majority of big SUV loving suburbanites with largely corporate type jobs or relatively successful small businesses.

Well I can tell you this guy seemed like a real piece of freaking woodwork
I would venture to say his political career is toast.

So far, the "they" you refer to is his ex-wife. To the best of my knowledge her accusation hasn't actually been substantiated yet, but that won't stop people from treating the accusation as unassailably true if it can be used as a political cudgel against him. Such is life in the political arena.

Speaking of which, there's already at least one thread on the topic in the P&OC forum where it belongs.

I'm in his district and will vote against him for an entirely different reason, his intrusive and annoying robo-calls. Until recently he was relentlessly spamming our phones out here with invitations to his town meetings.

Enough people complained and now he's chilled. There's nothing worse than having a ranting politician invite himself into your home on a regular basis.

A politician is actually trying to reach out to his constituents -- my goodness, what's our world coming to?

Yeah, well maybe he ought to reach out to his ex-wife and kids too. He'd have less time to invade my living room and I'd be happy.
