Counties? Just about any county has some good school districts and some that are less desirable. Really depends on what sort of lifestyle out want. The major population center of northeastern Illinois around Chicago consists of Cook. DuPage, Lake, Kane, Will, McHenry and Kendall counties. The first three are primarily well developed and will have the majority of high paying jobs / good schools, the next four are far less dense, with a drop off in salary, but also lower COL...

Each individual DISTRICT in Illinois sets their own salary for teachers in negotiation SOLELY with the teacher's union of that district -- no county (or state) oversight. Not sure how things are in Texas.

If you really want a "farm town" you can find that in some of the above, of move "downstate". Even then there are some cities / urbanized areas as well as some good schools and of course are state universities.

Lots of choices. What are YOU looking for?

I want O"fallon, fairview heigths or around. I want to make sure I apply to a good and safe school district. I sent 2 e mails to the department of education but they have not answer me yet/ I have been in the same school for five years but I need a change, I am tired of the hot and humid weather here. I visited last thanksgiving and I really like those places.

thanks for the info

Well there are plently of great schools around Chicago.
Lake County has several fantastic schools, (I attended Lake Forest High School for a couple years.) Other schools would be the Lake Bluff school district 65. (Grades K-8) Deerfield, and Libertyville Districts. All are ranked very highly in the state.
Another place to think of would be Tazewell County (Just south of Peoria) or Peoria County.
In Tazewell the best schools i can really think of are in Morton and Washington. Both of these cities schools districts are very respectable in the state. In Peoria County I would personally say Dunlap Schools would be the best school to teach. It is a very small, high end suburb of Peoria.
Hope this sort of helps you out. Just check these out. Good Luck! =)
