I've been through Macomb only once while here in Illinois, but I've got to say it looked like a nice place Welcome!

I used to live in Macomb, IL and I graduated from WIU. It was a nice place to live.

Mcomb is a farm town and a small college town. It iis not particularly large but it does have a pretty decent hospital and an awesome pediatrician. You will find most modern conveniences like Walmart and grocery stores. You will need a car. Peoria and Springfield are the closest large cities but they are not very close - probably an hour in great weather. You'll find a dozen grocers, two malls, three large parks (300-600 acres each) and bunch of other stuff to do most every weekend in Peoria. One of the things I like the mos tis the 1% grocery tax. Winters are generally very cold and wet.
