Going to be there at the end of June for the "fun days" time. Anything to do with a 9 year old little boy? Interests include paintball, ATV's, kayaking. Thanks for any input.

City Hall should know what children can do. IF that fails try the local gas station, restaurant. and hardware store for it is where the local events are tacked up on bulletin boards.

Generally speaking you will find q zoo and park at Chicago, Decauter, Bloomington, Peoria, Moline, Springfield and St. Louis. In addition there is a children's park at Champaign, rock-climbing wall at Bloomington, river cruise at Peoria, John Deere tractor museum at Moline, Lincoln museum at Springfield, wild animal park with train rodes outside of Peoria, Native American museum with interactivedisplays, gift shop and active archaelogical dig at Lewistown. There is also the Jake Wolf Fish Hatchery in Mason County.

State website of parks: DNR Look at the links within the menu on the right and left side of this page for more information.
