Hi everyone! I'm bumping this thread again because I was looking for info about activities or attractions near Terre Haute. I might be taking a little road trip within 812-land and I would rather not drive over two hours just to see the one place I was thinking about. I'm even considering staying overnight. I have never been anywhere near Terre Haute, unless you count Champaign, IL. Thanks.

Like: Less crime than my previous location and a lot of comfortable and safe events to attend.

Dislike: Limited opportunity (because of size) for recreation and some business ventures/employment types.

sbphilly, I want so much to say good things about T.H. as I'm stuck here. MOST people I've encountered have bad attitudes, perhaps from boredom, and unless I can learn to make the most of it, I might too. There are several bars, a few good restaurants, a mall with a few department stores, some extraordinary musicians, a couple good coffee shops, and some good churches. If you look at job postings, you'll see few and pay is low compared to cities I've been in. A common comment I hear from people who need a medical specialist is, "go to Indianapolis for it". There are some nice people here, who would do anything for a neighbor. I, personally, just get bored here and would love more activities/ culture/events...
