We will be in Nashville in late August. We plan to shop for a day and hike for a day. What else can we do with our children (ages 6-11)? Can't wait!

You can rent row boats at Yellowwood State Forest, a few miles west of Nashville. If you have a rainy day a trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum is certainly worthwhile.

Come to Columbus and have a good time at Zaharako's ... it's a wonderful old fashioned ice creme shop. You could go 2 doors down and play at Kidscommons. You could also go to Bloomington, peruse Indiana University's gorgeous campus and go to their children's museum, Wonderlab.

Where are you staying? The Brown County State Park Inn has a fantastic indoor waterpark that is awesome for rainy days or just lazy days.

I of course second Columbus and Bloomington, especially kidscommons and WonderLab. And if your kids are into fun things wrt food, they can 'grind their own' peanut butter or peanut butter and chocolate at BloomingFoods in Btown.
