Hi there! I am a lifelong Indy resident but I'm tired of the city. I found a house in London Indiana in NW Shelby County which has a Fairland Address. I know very little about it area other than it has great schools (big reason I'm considering it) and it's about a quarter mile from where a DC-9 crashed in 1969. I wonder about any problems like flooding, meth labs, water quality, burglaries ect.
Any info would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks

I grew up north of the area in New Palestine. That area is actually where I would like to live, close to one of the I-74 interchanges (either Pleasent View or London Rd.). Anyways, some of the smaller towns have your typical poor families, which usually means trashy, unkeep yards, homes in need of updating or in need of repairs. However, back when I-70 was only one lane in each direction (early 2000s, or late 90s), I would drive down to I-74 and take the back way home. Over the last decade, a lot of nice homes have been built in the area from the Hancock/Shelby Co. line south towards those two I-74 interchanges. Some of the homes are like a home and storage barn on three to five acre lots. As far as the schools, I don't know if Triton is "great" or not. Yes there are meth labs, there was a person shot by a deputy in that general area not to long ago either. Burglaries are all over the place, so you will want an alarm system. I'm not sure about the water quality, I am on a well in Hancock Co. and I use a two stage filter system for drinking water, water to make ice, and cooking.
