From what I have been reading, Indiana seems to be a staunchly conservative state compared to Michigan (where I currently live). I am wondering how my family will be received when we move there. My husband, son, and I plan on moving to Indianapolis in a few years to seek teaching jobs. I am black and he is white. I live in a small tourist town right now (hubby's hometown) that is 99 percent white and so far, I don't feel any tension, hidden or otherwise, for the most part. Will we run into a ton of people that don't agree with our marriage? I imagine we will, but not in droves, hopefully. Thank you in advance.

Well there's a difference coming from a small town to a big city. Overall you won't have a problem but with larger populations come all sorts of people and their thinking. Interracial relationships are nothing new here and quite common.

That's great to hear. It was my husband's idea that we move here, believe it or not. He has visited Indy before and loved it. I was not too concerned about us, but more for our son because he is mixed. I am hoping he can grow up here without worrying about stuff like that.

Should be ok, Marion, Hamilton, Johnson, Hendricks counties, you will be fine. Morgan depends on where and don't really know that much about Shelby and Hancock.
