HI all,
I am now living here in Lafayette, YAAY (took me 10 months to sell my home in Virginia and move here to be with my husband who was already working/living in Lafayette!)

Just started looking at houses. Can anyone tell me about the Brookview subdivision? Looked at a house there that I liked a lot. Still have others to view in : Raineybrook, Lockwood, Foxwoods, and Vinton Woods.

If anyone can tell me about any of these areas, I'd be most grateful!

Thanks in advance
Meenie

Not too familiar with Brookview--seems like a decent area. I have a coworker that lives there--the only complaint she had was that a house that was for sale was not getting it's lawn mowed--so she kept having to mow it herself--maybe it's the house you are going to look at LOL
I live in Raineybrook (the new section)--love love love it...for multiple reasons--although the location is a bit far out--which has good/bad going for it. Thieves from surrounding areas (think teens looking to take ipods out of cars) target our neighborhood due to the nice homes..which sucks--but will happen when you live in a nicer area.
Lockwood--love the homes in these subdivisions off of Eisenhower--considered a few myself but they weren't new enough for the husband--would definitely consider though.
Foxwoods: not too familiar with--would worry about surrounding area--much the same with Vinton Woods--it's a nice subdivision with nice established homes. There are pros and cons though--close to town and places to eat/shop etc--but HUD homes, apartments etc--nearby too...
I have a friend who lives in Vinton though and her house is lovely.

The brookside house is at the top of my list as is a house on Mulberry. Have several more to look at this weekend. Looking is kinda fun, but would sure like to find "the one" hehe.
