Muncie basically has Ball State University. Other than that, stay away from Muncie. Your best bet is northern indiana.

20 tornados a year across the ENTIRE state of 36k square miles is actually very good. Tornados are never more than a mile wide and thats a once in a holy grail type of tornado (Usually 1 to 3 of these tornados per 100 years). If you do get in a tornado just head into the basement most our tornados are the weaker type that will pull the shingles off your roof (Few hundred to a thousand dollars which isn't that big of a deal) Consider that the cost of living here compared to Washington in Savings easily could pay for that and your probably not going to have one they are so random.

dude afraid of tornadoes yet he lives not far from something that would totally wipe him out if it erupted and if it did erupt there would be no real warning..

Indiana avg 20 tornados a year.
Indiana ranks #1 in tornados in the month of april.

By keeping a eye on the SPC forcasts. you can know the chances of severe weather... and chances are if a tornado dose happen you will have 15 to 30mins + warning.
