I guess you dont like the floor. Did they agree to the offer? I asume so. You can have your agent file a ammendment about the floor. That you want a concession to fix it. Hope you have your own agent and are not working thru their agent.

It sounds like the OP has already bought the house. From the way it was written it sounds like the OP only was in the house once prior to closing. It also sounds like the OP didn't inspect the house or do a walk thru prior to closing.

There maybe a very good reason the flooring was changed, but the OP should have been informed. Perhaps the owners contracted for a new floor prior to the OP seeing it and went ahead with the change. The reason I say the prior owners must have had a good reason for the flooring change is that experience tells me people don't spend money on a house they will be selling shortly unless they absolutely must or it's already been paid for.

If you've closed, there isn't a whole lot you can do now. Some one should have informed the OP, but it's a bit late for a relatively minor issue like a floor. It's just not worth pursuing financially. I do think of a floor as a minor issue because it is something that is easily changed and, in the grand scheme of home ownership, inexpensive. It's not like a roof.
