Hello Indiana folks. I am considering a job in the Jasper area. Can anyone tell me areas within about a 30 minute commute of Jasper that you'd recommend looking for good schools and 2200+ sq ft, 4 bed, 2+ bath homes so that I can get an idea of the cost of homes in those areas... I currently live in High Point NC and a similiar home can go anywhere from $120k up to $250k or more depending on the specific neighborhood. Thanks for the help.

Hi, I grew up near Jasper. Honestly, you'll find great schools right in Jasper (& Dubois county area)- no need to go 30 miles out. However, Jasper is considered a bit "upscale" by southern Indiana standards so house prices will be a bit higher than surrounding areas. However, I don't think you will have sticker shock coming from the NC area. You should also look into Huntingburg.

Just go on realtor.com & do a search area around Jasper with your price range (or house critera) & it should tell you what you need to know. Good luck!

Jasper is great! It is on my short list of small towns I would live in if it comes to that.
