I'm going to be doing a road trip into Southern Indiana and Illinois....and will be stopping at Vincennes first to do some historic sight-seeing...then on to New Harmony later in the day.

I get an early start on my trips, and am planning on having bkfst on the road. Can any of you recommend a good spot for breakfast in either Vincennes or Paoli....pref. would be Vincennes...

Looking for sort of local mom & pop place that serves pancakes, eggs, coffee, pie, etc....you sort of get the feel. Someplace that the locals go to. And that would be open early (6 AM, 7 AM or so)

What exactly is your route? Are you coming from the east and heading out toward Illinois and going through Paoli for the scenic route? There honestly isn't anything like what you're describing in Paoli that's open for breakfast like that. If you're coming through town at that time, your option is probably going to be Hardee's. You might be able to get into some place at one of the hotels in French Lick or West Baden at that time, or they have a Denny's there now. I can't speak for anything in Vincennes.

I stopped at a place called Olde Thyme Diner in Vincennes once. It was good enough; and in the heart of downtown Vincennes.
