Hello, I got accepted to a Master School in South Bend area. Im planning on moving in 2018 from Rochester, NY. I have never been in Indiana. I do not mind commuting 30 min or even 45 min if i have to. we are planning on buying a house hopefully close to South Bend. What are some areas i should look for? Im moving with my girlfriend so her safety comes first.

You may want to try to rename your post and include South Bend in the title. People will be more likely to respond. Sometimes people ask questions about South Bend in the Northwest Indiana sub-forum also. Search there as there are numerous posts on South Bend.

there are lots of great areas in the South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka area. I am not from there but have visited a lot--there are some beautiful interesting homes off of Ireland road in the Erskine Manor neighborhood (not sure what your price point is) or near Notre Dame--which in my opinion has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever visited.
