Great long article about Mike Pence, which covers wide ground, including his ambitions (with some disturbing details about his ties to the Koch brothers), but if you're only interested in his past as governor of Indiana, you can scroll down to "Pence's tenure as governor nearly destroyed his career."

Pence is pretty much a straight up Republican. If you like Republicans, you probably like Pence. If you prefer Democrats, you probably don't like him.

There has been no dirt found on Pence's background. As governor, he was clean with no money or cheating scandals, and ran a fiscally sound budget.

Koch brothers - Special interests fund both political parties. Candidates typically care more about who is giving them money, their sponsors, than they care about the average citizen. As Will Rogers stated many decades ago, we have the best Congress money can buy.

I think Pence is more Christian Conservative than Republican. I do think overall he is a good guy personally, but like many people, he would like the people in this country to live a certain way and he will use whatever power he can to make that happen. His religious views thus rub many people the wrong way, as strict religious beliefs are changing for many in this country. I wasn't really a Pence fan even though I lean more right than left. He scares me the same way that loony far left progressives scare me. Both groups want strict control of how other humans live their life, at least in certain aspects.
