I asked on the Indianapolis forum but haven't received any feedback, so I'm casting a wider net:

I'm researching "marketplace" health insurance for my family of 4, and the only two carriers that come up for my area of interest (generally, Hamilton County) are CareSource and Ambetter. Does anyone know anything about or have experience with either of these?

We've always had Anthem Blue Cross through my spouse's employer, but if/when we're on our own, we'll need to come up with an alternative.

Thanks!

Hello? Anyone???

Is everyone reading here covered by an employer's plan, Medicare, or without any health insurance at all?

How 'bout your family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances? Have you heard *anything* about CareSource or Ambetter?

I've noticed people seem to be hesitant to voice their opinions for whatever reason.

I am currently covered by an employer plan (BCBS-PPO), but I did check out the plans (this month) provided here in Indiana by the "marketplace-formerly known as Obamacare" and found it to be extremely depressing.

In fact, my first impression is the "marketplace choices" are on par and not much better than what the Healthy Indiana Plan for Medicaid qualified users have. I do support the opportunity Indiana gives to residents with the HIP plan...just saying that those who need to buy their insurance should have better plans to choose from.

It would be great to hear from those already buying insurance here in Indiana. My first question would be if they find provider access restrictive.

I have real concerns about the state of healthcare in America. Regardless of insurance options in the future...it will all stink if we have insurance but no doctors available for appointments. There is a huge crisis in providers coming and nothing much is being done to fix the problem. Federal govt. needs to increase funding for physician residencies.

Thank you, I agree! Surely someone on this forum buys their insurance through the marketplace or knows someone who does.

We, a family of four, are currently covered by an employer's plan (Anthem PPO), but if that changes -- likely due to a planned relocation -- we want to know what our options are and what we can expect by way of access to care.
