View Poll Results: Do you consider Indiana to be the eastern Midwest/eastern cornbelt?
I would say Ohio is the eastern limit to the Midwest though Indiana is also not too far from the border 7 50.00%
Indiana is in the eastern corn belt but I still wouldn’t consider anything in the Midwest as “Eastern” 2 14.29%
No. Indiana is the stereotype of what defines the Midwest, there’s nothing remotely eastern about Indiana 6 42.86%

I'm probably biased since I grew up in Ohio but I've always felt that the Midwest ended at Ohio (heading east).

Ohio has signs of appalachia in the south east where Indiana does not. However, still a lot of corn in Ohio. I would say Indiana is the farthest east of the all encompasing corn states, Ohio is more geographically diverse, and has older cities.

I definitely think of it as eastern Midwest.

There's just a huge difference in terms of water availability and vegetation between Indiana and somewhere like Nebraska.

Indiana is most definitely located in the eastern half of the Midwest, but I don't consider it's location to be the most eastern edge of the Corn Belt. I think that honor would probably go to the western 2/3rd's of Ohio. The eastern 3rd of Ohio seems to take on an Appalachian vibe in Southeast Ohio and a Northeastern vibe in Northeast Ohio.

True, but some areas of Indiana have an Appalachian flavor like Switzerland County with steeply wooded bluff terrain and some farms.

"Eastern Midwest" - well obviously Indiana is in the eastern part of the Midwest. Mod cut.

The Eastern Midwest should just be called the Mideast.
