My husband and I are both teachers and want to move to the Fishers area...we are open to any area. We are in Florida, Palm Beach county, and want out! He is a Florida native and is very intimidated by the cold...do you have any advice for tranisitioning? Are the school districts open to hiring non-Indiana residents with the promise to move this summer? (We have to finish the year down here...)

Thanks for the advice!

Check with the school district (Hamilton Southeastern http://www.hse.k12.in.us/) (broken link). I live in Fishers and my house is going on the market on April 1st. We want to be sold by June 1st so our kids can finish school here!

Default Hamilton county

I can't speak to the issue whether the school districts are hiring, but Hamilton county is a very good county to live in. We are in the Westfield area, but have grandkids in Westfield and Noblesville school districts. The schools are very good. Our daughters graduated from Westfield. It does get cold here, unfortunately, in the winters. I've never liked the cold and have lived here most of my life. We did live in FL (Hobe Sound) for about 5 yrs. but that was around 20 yrs. ago or so. Indiana is home though. Our neighborhood has 8 miles of trails which is great for biking, etc. and has lakes, clubhouse, pools, tennis, etc.
