Yes, Cincinnati - Indy - Chicago (with a few stops along the way).

I might come back and vote in the poll. As it is now, I would lean no, because of the two part nature of the poll.

HSR between Indy and Chicago, yes, I would be in favor. Not only would I be in favor, I would probably use it multiple times a year.

HSR between Indy and Cincinnati; this is where you have to sell the idea that it is good for the region. Maybe it is; but I can not imagine any scenario in which I would want to take a train to Cincinnati.

Doesn't the "few stops along the way" defeat the purpose of HSR?

No. Rail works best when it connects multiple significant points. "Speed" isn't the focus of HSR. No matter what HSR is the most efficient mode of travel between 100 to 500 miles.

There is a reason why real estate and economic productivity skyrocket near transit lines...

Where would stops be needed on a Cincy-Indy-Chicago rail line? Batesville? Lafayette? Rennsellear? Vevay? I mean.........what's the point? We already have the (I know, not hsr) Amtrak line that stops in every podunk town between here and Chicago.

Ok, so once every couple of years, assuming a Colts road game in Cincinnati is of interest to me?

The problem with taking any kind of transit to Cincinnati is that when I get there, I still need a car to get around. Driving to Chicago is a hassle. 65 is busy. Chicago is busy. Parking is expensive. I can around on CTA. None of that is in play for Cincinnati. 74 is rarely busy. Cincinnati is not an intimidating place to drive. There is no great transit system. If I am going to spend a weekend in Cincy, it is easier to drive, and dropping a train between Indy and Cincy won't change that in either city.

LaFayette /West LaFayette (Purdue) and Merriville. The citizens of "podunk" within the 3 states,
might like to travel too. btw, Cincinnati is just as interesting as Indy.

Lafayette I can see. Merrillville as part of Chicago, I guess. Crawfordsville? No. Vevay? No. Batesville? No.
