Hello,

I am doing some exploratory searching and I am looking for a dog friendly apartment (my dog is a collie just under 50 lbs) that is within walking distance of downtown indy. I have done some looking and I am having trouble finding places that allow larger dogs... though I could probably pass her off for lighter since she is all fluff and hair. I would like to keep my rent to $750 a month or lower, 1 or 2 bedrooms is fine but no studios.

I appreciate the help!

You "might' be able to actually rent a house or should I say 1/2 a duplex for that kind of money reasonably close to downtown. Look at Holy Cross just east of downtown don't go past state street. You also might look around for a carriage house apartment in Woodruff area. both are walking distance and have good bus service in winter.

As you are no doubt finding out things are kinda pricey downtown. Your best bet might be a carriage house apartment (check out craigslist) or someone with a house looking for roomate who likes dogs. Just a thought. Good luck!

There is are 2 buildings I know of that are ok and allow large dogs. The first is at 10th and Delaware, and the other is at 13th and Central. They are both managed by the same company...MBA properties, or something like that. A 1 bedroom runs around $550, and they both allow 80 pound dogs.
