I checked Apartment Ratings site and it got mixed reviews. The apartment I was looking at is big, 1,590 sf. It was reasonably priced but not so low I was leary of it. Anyone heard of this place?
I certainly hope you come and check out anyplace you are considering. But I would not live in those apartments. They are old and although they are recently remodeled (on the outside) I would advise against living there. I know the price would be higher, but if you are looking to be in Washington township I would seriously look into more towards Keystone at the Crossing. Of course you don't want to be too far away from where your husband would work, so that is why I recommended the Harrison apartments on 56th street.

I'm probably a lot pickier than most when it comes to apartments and if you are only going to live there 6 months or so, then you can be a little more open to some less than desirable place.

You really need to come here and take a look at the apartment, then ballance costs vs commute to work and whether you want to be in Washington or Lawrence township.

Ok, here's something that you may want to consider, McCordsville. It's in a good school system, Mount Vernon. It's a small town in Hancock county, minutes from the Lawrence office you may be working in. Here's a site for some rather new apartments:

J.C.Hart : Gateway Crossing

Lawrence is on the NE side.

lawrence would be northeast outside of 465 north of Pendleton Pike. Fort Ben Harrison used to be slightly east of the Finance Center off 56th and it has converted to civilian land. That freed up a lot of nice land for development. So think Northeast for your looking. Use Mapquest for every address to get an idea of where it is. Just zoom out to see where the address is in relationship to 465.

Thanks everyone. My husband would probably go out there before we did since we have a house to sell. The market isn't moving that quickly. So he would be able to check things out. He isn't as picky as me but I will give him guidelines. The schools out here start around the 2nd week of August so I have to stay for that also. Thanks for the tips on where to look. We would be staying in an apartment for probably at least a year. So when we hear something I'll let you all know.

I noticed someone suggested Gateway Crossing for apartments. That is built in newer area with easy access to Pendleton Pike which is a main artery for this area. in fact, Gateway Crossing also has subdivisions as well. There's apartments on Fox Rd, just north of there in the Lawrence/Geist area. They maybe pricey though.

Default Resurecting my original post....read on!

Hi guys! Well I just wanted to let you know we still haven't heard anything from the interview my husband had but....he got an Email today from another job he put in for there with the Feds. It's with the Dept of Health and Human Services. They want to interview him! Hopefully we can get a phone interview. Anyway so far Indianpolis has been good to us. Now if someone would just say come on down!!

Does anyone know where this place is? Do they have more than one location? Thanks.

Is it with the state FSSA? If so, it's downtown and you may be working for IBM. They outsourced most of the operation to them and they are in quite a quandry over it.

No it's a Federal Government position. It's at the Inspector General's Office. They are going to do a phone interview on Tuesday. I'm still not sure of all the particulars as my hubby has put in for tons of jobs and after awhile they all run together. So we will see. If I find out more info I will post it. Thanks!

OK I did some digging and I found an address on Google for The Dept of Health and Human Services (Office of the Inspector General) and it said:

30 S. Meridian St.

I'm pretty sure that's it. So where is that? Anyone? Thanks again.
