My family and I will be in Indianapolis at the end of February for "Future Teacher Day" at UIndy. This will be our first time in Indy. We would like to know what are some things to do in Indianapolis? We are interested in just about anything. Are there any restaurants we should check out? Things to see?

Thanks,
Sean

Here's my 4 picks for restaurants.

ITALIAN: Mama Carolla's (54th between Keystone & College)
STEAK: Sullivan's Steak House (86th & Keystone)
BURGERS & FRIES: Bub's (Main Street, Carmel)
MEXICAN: El Sol De Tala (E Washington Street near Rural)

You can't go wrong at any of them.

Oooh, I love El Sol De Tala. ss940627, around where will you be staying? Downtown? Near UIndy? There are lots of fun things to do. I'm a fan a of the zoo, thought I'm not sure how the weather will be. If you are interested in museums, there are a ton. How old are the members of your family?

A 2 year old isn't going to know what the heck she's looking at, don't go for her.

But yeah there's not much to do in Indy besides eat and shop.

I have never understood the infatuation with El Sol. It has always seemed a generic piece of bland that gets a rep from suburbanites because it is plopped into a rough neighborhood.

I agree. Do you have any better suggestions? I'm always looking for better Mexican food here.
