It looks like after almost 5 long years, my wish will come true, and I will be moving back to IN. I always dreamed that when I moved back, I would move to Indy proper and like my parents, send my kids to Catholic schools. I really do not want to live in suburbia anymore. My older son, however, has been diagnosed with ADHD inattentive type, fka ADD and will be in 1st grade in the fall. He does fine with a little extra assistance and has started reading simple books. He gets frustrated with math, though, at times. The public school district where we reside in MN is very good with him, and I now have to consider his needs as primary and not simply my wish for a more urban environment.

I am sure that Carmel schools are probably very good for this type of thing but was wondering if any SPECIFIC township or IPS grade schools would be good for a child with ADHD. I see that Catholic schools now often employ a special ed teacher. Do any of them cater to children with ADHD? Does anyone out there with an ADHD child send him/her to Catholic schools? Are there any special private schools for kids with ADHD in Indy? There is one up here in MN but cost is prohibitive for even those of some means--almost $22,000 per year.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike. Would you say any grade school in Carmel? I only ask because I know there is some redistricting going on up there. My guess is that you probably cannot go wrong, but I had wanted to go in and "interview" the school before looking at homes in any given district.

Our son has asbergers and is in 6th grade. He likes creekside. I can speak about the other schools but carmel has been very flexable for us.

Thanks again, Mike. My realtor's nephew is also an Aspie who is now at the Middle School. I believe he attended Creekside, and his mom was very happy there. You have been quite helpful. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to answer my questions.

Thanks for the clarification. I went to IPS and Catholic schools in Indy. Am not familiar with the names of the elementary and middle schools in Carmel.
