Champps at Circle Center is ok.

Kilroy's is at the corner of Meridian and Gerogia. However, Kilroy's will not be open to the public on Saturday night during the men's Final Four games.

Jillian's isn't exactly a sports bar, but they do have giant tv's and bars on all three levels.

The Pub is on Georgia Street, right across from Conseco Fieldhouse.

Front Page Tavern is at 310 Mass Ave.

Scotty's Brewhouse is at the corner of Virginia/Maryland/Pennsylvania.

Coaches Tavern is across the street from Scotty's on Pennsylvania.

If you are looking for a B-dub's, there is one at the corner of Meridian and Washignton Street.

Further out from the core of downtown, there is a place called The Dugout on Virginia Ave.

Indy is a very bar town, so I would ask what kind of bar you like. Something upscale? Something a little more divey? Do you also want someplace that also has really good food? What kind of food do you like? What kind of crowd are you looking for?

I asked some of my more barhoppinist friends for suggestions, and was told to recommend to "official" Butler bar. Apparently each area school is assigned a bar. That might be fun to check out. Does anyone know what this official Butler bar is?

Personally, I like MacNiven's on Mass Ave. It is usually crowded but still low key, and the food is decent. I'm not that much of sports fan, though, so it might be too low key for you.

I have never heard of that. I have heard of designated bars for the Big 10 tournament and during the Final 4. So, Butler would have had a designated bar during the Final Four last year, but that was because the Final 4 was in Indianapolis, and that is what Indianapolis does when those events are here.

There are plenty of "Butler bars" in Broad Ripple, it would be interesting to learn which one, if any, is designated as official.

It could very well be that my friend was referring to something in Broad Ripple. While I asked specifically about downtown bars, this particular person lives in Broad Ripple, and I don't think she considers anything outside of Broad Ripple to be valid.
