I am moving to Indianapolis and need to start looking for a house.

Can you please advise us as to the top school districts in the area?

We are looking to live in such an area with a home built in the late 80's or newer for under $230,000

I do not mind a commute of 30 minutes or so into Marion.

Mainly looking for an area in the burbs with many families and decent shopping so we don't have to go into the city often.

Thanks in advance!

I'd stick with Pendleton or Lapel, Noblesville is the furthest south I'd go if you want to commute to Marion ... weren't we discussing this with someone else yesterday??

Do you mean Marion the town or Marion the county? Big difference...

I don't know about lower grades, but North Central HS has one of the best reputations in the state.

These Chamber of Commerce links are a great resource for school districts.

If you are talking Marion the city, you aren't living anwhere near Indy then. Fort Wayne is closer. Here's a link for the school systems in the state of Indiana.
