I am considering renting a house around the South Grove golf course. Any idea how safe this area is? Link that follows is a map of the area. loc: W. 22nd St at Riverside Indianapolis IN US - Google Maps Also if this place doesn't work out I'm looking for a safe place that allows pitbull mixes, within 30 miles of downtown Indy. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Area isn't too bad, you might want to check out the crime stats on IPD's website. As far as pit pulls go, you may want to look at renting a house as a lot of apartment complexes do not allow pitbull breeds or any dangerous breeds like pits, dobermans and akita's. Anywhere in Marion county is within 30 miles of downtown and you could also venture into Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson or Hancock counties and be within 30 miles of downtown.

I have a co-worker that used to live over there. She didn't seem to like or dislike the area. She never had any problems with her neighbors, she moved because the commute from there to Castleton is not ideal.

If you are able, you should definitely visit the area to see how comfortable you feel there. It is a spotty area. This coming from someone who also lives in a "spotty area."
