I think "A Family Friendly Place" is the town motto.

We have 2 kids ( 14 and 2) and are living in Carmel for over a year. Great schools and very friendly. Not exciting but again great for family. You will have no problem to find a house in your range! Again I am insisting on the quality of schools.

Either Carmel or Westfield would work... I live in Westfield and love it but will say that property taxes, utilities etc... are higher in Westfield than they are in Carmel. I assume it's because it's less developed with a smaller tax base. Even the sewage charges are 2-3 times Carmel's...

It's one of the nicest suburbs in the entire Midwest. Of course it's "Family Friendly".

Not to mention that Westfield has become a sea of stoplights. They put a new one up every few days. No way would I ever move back there.

That is true! I'm not a fan of all the stoplights either.

Correct but its not a suburb just for the wealthy.
Middle Class and Upper Middle Class people reside in this prestiegious suburb.
Another reason why is due to Carmel and Indiana's Low Cost of living makes it easier for Middle Class people to settle here.
Low property tax caps also help with that etc etc.

That's not the case here in the Los Angeles area unfortunately. You more or less have to be a multi-millionaire to live in Beverly Hills or Malibu.
