I currently live in Greenfield, IN. My boyfriend and I are wanting to move downtown, if possible. We have searched the web and most places are insanely expensive. We're looking for a 2bd, 1 or 1.5 bath. We're having a tough time finding an apartment in a good area and not super pricey. We'd prefer downtown because we need to be on the bus line. Looking at 46202 or west, but not too far west. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Well downtown actually has 3 zipcodes, a huge chunk of 202, all of 46204 and part of 46225. The cheapest area of downtown is North Meridian just north of 65 and some just south of it. You should be able to find something well within reason. Try Van Rooy Properties | The Best Addresses Have Our Name on Them

I live in 46202 and love it. I have a studio/w den for $400 a month and the owner is great. The owners father owns the building adjacent to mine and they have 2br available for around $700, not bad being downtown (market & highland). There is a park within 2 blocks and its a bout a block from the wash. st. busline. pm me and i'll give you the landlords info.

Off White River Parkway, just on the other side of the river from IUPUI, are two options:

#1: Park Place apartments. This is a ICH hotel group property. They have two towers. One is named after their branded Candle Wood Suites. The other tower is called Park Place.

#2: Just south of this area is a small area between Washington St. and New York St. The area is known as String Town (maybe Stringtown?). There have been folks buying up these older homes and doing some minor updates. There is a small contingent of students who rent out these homes. Might not be the best area, but I don't recall ever hearing of any serious crime.
