You can do better than 79th and Harcourt. It's gone down hill in recent years but at least your close to St. V's. Just kidding but the area isn't what it used to be.

Any suggestions for decent apartments. I really cannot go past about 650-700 a month for rent... but do not want to live in a place where i cant go out at night lol

Nkracher are you wanting an area thats artsy and up and coming?
I would recommend Fountain Square then.
Now i am not sure if they have homes to rent or if your just sticking to apartments but thats a good place and its pretty safe too.

That's the majority of apartment in and around Indianapolis as far as price range. A few pricier ones but all pretty average. It really depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking to be closer to the job, things to do or both?

I am looking for a place that is somewhat close to work (the harcourt place is about 10 mins away). I was also looking at a place in carmel that is cheaper than the Landmark apartments and it takes about 15 or so min to work ( i work on the NE side). I will probably go to a house after living in Indianapolis about a year so i can figure out where is what.

If you can get into carmel do it. But not if it is mohawk. Those places suck
