What are your favorite old buildings and structures in Indianapolis?

I would be curious to know what some of the oldest churches, factories and other industrial buildings are in Indy. Other people see blight and I see history. I love driving down Massachusetts Avenue east of Rural and seeing all of the very old buildings.

Good thread idea! I was shocked how chalk full of old buildings Indy is.

I'm a big fan of the old Union Station. I love walking down South Meridian with all those old store fronts. I'm glad them kept them when they built the downtown mall. The only thing I wish is that they would actually use the doors and windows of the old storefronts along the mall. I also really love the old Atheneum on Mass.

Even tho they're not really old, I kind of like the Pyramids in the north part of Indy. I usually don't like 60-70's architecture, but I like 'em. Am I sick?!

I used to do that from time to time as a detour to my white suburbia map.
