I'd wager that these days 38th and Post is worse than 38th and Capitol. I didn't live here "back in the day", but I bet it used to be the opposite, 25 years ago. Back then 38th and Capitol was probably the heart of the hood and 38th/Post was pretty normal suburbia. Things sure can change quickly.

It was getting rough 25 years ago.

Nope. It was bad 25 years ago. We lived on 52nd at one time and did not like driving 38th (except we loved Lafayette Square) or down Central after 38th Street. Fall Creek Place was called "Dodge City", I think.

Bad is subjective. In my humble opinion, 25 years ago the area around Post Rd was going through a transition (not The Meadows type). Today there is a world of difference in 38th and Post Rd than 25 years ago. I was recently in Indianapolis (I'm there a couple times a month) and drove down 38th street several times last week and and guess what I survived!! Didn't get car jacked. No bullet holes in my vehicle and my wife did not think her life was imperil. Every year I have the pleasure of hanging out with eastsiders at the annual Eastside reunion and never had an incident.

BTW Fall Creek Place was always known as Dodge City at least during my youth.
