Ya know, Hoosiers seem pretty tolerant. Very mild mannered--at least in Indy. There is a decent Hispanic population here.

I was at the Indiana Dunes State Park (2 hours north) a couple of days ago for the 4th, and easily half the people were Spanish speakers--so many that the announcements were in both Spanish and English. I'm not sure if they where from Gary, Chesterson, Chicago, or other parts of Indiana, but I was astonished by the sheer amount of Hispanic people.

You should be fine.

In all honesty, the region tends to be more tolerant than indianapolis. East chicaho is the still majority hispanic but oeople have moved out into places like hobart, crown point and portage. Indianapolis isnt too bad but there r ihnorant people wherever you end up.

Coming from someone whose brother-in-law and his family are Mexican, my best suggestion is this. Stay in Marion County and you'll probably be fine. Seriously.

TT is probably right.

I lived in Greenwood for a year and every time I went to the store I got the LOOK from different people. I haven't had the LOOK since I left Greenwood. Now, I just get the STARE. I've become rather insecure in the last year.
