$12 per month, really? And they aren't dropping online advertising, hopefully at least the annoying popups will disappear.

There are other places to get news, will be interesting to see how this goes over.

Yeah, I'll get my news elsewhere. The Star doesn't do any special reporting that i can't get from other local news agencies. Half of their stories I would have to check local tv station news sites to get all the details anyway. Like one commenter said, the Star has become too much of a city promoter instead of investigating claims. In their article today, the Star is bragging that they have someone assigned just to find the best deals in Indy. Way to cover hard hitting journalism!

My thoughts exactly! That's why I read the NEWSpaper, to find the best deals.

I can check out the Groupon or LivingSocial website if I am looking for deals.

If it's like the Wall Street Journal, all you have to do is google the article title and you'll get behind the paywall without a problem.

I think $144 a year is a little steep to read Indystar.

I swore off the Indy Star a couple of years ago.

Having said that, this is something newspapers should have been doing a decade ago. Newspapers missed the boat as far as staying ahead of the internet curve.

The B-ton paper has been doing this for years, not that they are ahead of any curves. It's called the Horrible-Terrible for a reason.

I ordered the Indy Star when we first moved to B-ton 10 years ago. They couldn't manage to consistently deliver it so I stopped it. Never missed it, but I do sometimes like to see if the Star has an article on something or other. Guess it's the news channel sites all the time now.

I think we might let mom in law get the paper and just share it. I only need it for cat pans and for the ads. Since we see her once or twice a week it should work well.
