My advice to you would be that Indianapolis generally isn't referred to as "naptown" anymore. Back in the day it was but much has been happening here in the past decade or so.

The nickname "Indy" is greatly preferred.

I hear lots of young people in Center Township using the term "Naptown." I hear Indy too, but Naptown is a pretty common nickname among folks who live in the city. We even have a roller derby team called Naptown Roller Girls.

............not that this has anything to do with buying used cars.

I went to High School in Carmel and we would even say we lived in the Nap. It's a very common term used in the hip-hop community. Just listen to Hot 96 and you'll hear the DJ's saying Naptown all the time. It sounds much more unique than Indy.

I can't say what dealers are GOOD. But I can say avoid the "tote-the-note" lots if you can. JD Byrider would be the biggest offender in my experience.
