So can someone compare or give me their opinions on Mooresville and Greenwood, IN?
I am wanting a smaller town feel, while still being close to the big city (Indianapolis). I would like a city with nice homes, but that are a little spread out and not completely cookie cutter.
Thanks in advance!

Mooresville would have more the small-town feel, but I prefer Greenwood's location.

I'd say Greenwood but I'd also consider Avon, Plainfield and Brownsburg.

Moorseville seems like the perfect place, but I am basing everything off of research from the internet ya know? The housing is cheaper in Mooresville, but I love the name Greenwood. I did look at Avon, Plainfeild, and Brownsburg as well. Two problems arise with those, there is an airport too close to Avon and Plainfield for me. And my best friend's husband has a stutter so he has issues saying certain names, so we need to chose somewhere that is easy for him to say without firing the stutter every time.

How about looks? Greenwood sounds green haha, but my friend and I are both big into gardening and seeing beautiful trees and grass. Is either prettier than the other in your opinion?

Why do you prefer Greenwood over Mooresville?

Well, Mooresville is as close to the airport as Avon and Plainfield. The houses are cheaper for a reason there. Years ago a girl I worked with told me a things about Mooresville. I won't repeat them here, but I would NEVER live there. Not the kind of place I would be comfortable.

BTW--have a family member that lives there. He was in his garage one day. Some guys came in, beat him up and robbed him in the middle of the day. He was old enough at the time that he was retired.

Wtf! Wow!! Well I may need to research a bit more then! I can see the crime rate isn't bad, but maybe I should call the local police departments and ask a few questions for first hand experience.

I'm talking about more than crime. Greenwood is just a much nicer place to live in my opinion. People are better educated and better off economically.

I had been using these 2 links to compare them. Imo city data makes Mooresville sound better for me. My main issue with Greenwood is the population is 50,000 that is a LOT of people. I want a small town feel, and Mooresville having only 9,000 fits that criteria more. I am going to have to call the county of find a county website so I can look into it more. If the crime is bad then I don't want to live there. I'm not worried about the economy, I will be working and going to school in Indianapolis.
The more I research Greenwood the more I dislike it. That's another issue.

This is the easiest way to summarize the two places. Mooresville is a small town and Greenwood is a suburb. If you want to live in/near the city, choose Greenwood. If you want to live in a small town, choose Mooresville.
