Gas in south Chicago suburb this morning $3.71/gallon. Got back to Indy three hours later and it is $3.95.

Yes gas is going up. $3.95 about the norm here now, starting to rev up their summer blend which is slightly more expensive than their normal blend. Highest in Chicago right now is $4.49 in several spots with several over the $4.00 but the lowest is $3.68. Needless to say gas is higher in the city than in the suburbs. Indy 3.47 - 3.95 but gas has always been traditionally cheaper down here than up there.

I wish any of those worked for me. I kind of wish I lived downtown so I could use the Express Bus from Fishers. Unfortunately, my company relocated to Carmel. Very little I can do to get from SR 37 in Fishers to US 31 in Carmel without driving myself every day. I'm all for the IndyConnect plan!

The worst thing my company has done to me in the past few years, was moving from the transit friendly (relatively) Castleton to the transit disaster that is Fishers. They gave us the reverse commute bus, but the transit times were 8:02 am to 4:29 pm. Then they wondered why no one used it. I don't know.....maybe because most people here work 8-430 and your service times are useless?

Oh well.

I meant worked downtown, not lived downtown, but I know what you mean with the times of the Express Buses. I looked into a job possibility downtown once and thought I could take the Express Bus. Then saw the job shift was until 5:30 and the express bus left at 5:32 five blocks away. I'm not that fast of a runner! Then it was a 30 minute wait for the next one.

Well on that front to be honest, HC can do that now. They just don't and waiting for Indianapolis to pay for it. Hamilton County Express only does origin to destination and void of regular routes. That's your fault (hamilton county). The equivalent down south Access Johnson County also does origin to destination like IndyGo or HCE but like IndyGo it also has regular route service between Greenwood and as far south as Franklin N/S/E/W routes. It's expensive but it meets up at IndyGo at Greenwood Park Mall, Target on 135, the K-Mart on 31 and at the Walmart on County Line Road. It's not the best but a person living in Greenwood if they wanted to can take public transportation to Franklin or someone who lived off of 135 can take public transportation to their office in downtown Greenwood.

Take back the fares. Zip line within the county is $1.00 per ride $2.00 day pass or $25.00 monthly pass. To meet up with IndyGo routes, $2.00 per ride (+ indygo fare you'd have to pay), $4.00 day pass (+ indygo fare you'd have to pay), $50.00 monthly pass + indygo fare you'd have to pay.

It is always easier to blame the politico than offer useful solutions.
