We're coming south into downtown in a few weeks to the Colts concert on Georgia st between Illinois and Capitol. Any advice on where to park or better directions?
Thanks,

I would just park at Circle Center Mall. I have a hard time believing a Gin Blossoms concert is going to cause a parking armageddon downtown.

Is it a Colts Sunday? You mentioned a Colts concert on Georgia Street. I'm not sure where Toxic Toast came up with the Gin Blossoms - unless he searched to find out what concert might be happening related to a Colts game. If the Gin Blossoms is happening along with a Colts game -- you probably will have lots of trouble parking. I'd consider parking somewhere about five or six blocks north of Washington Street - along Capitol or Illinois - and then walking south. There are some lots up there where you might pay $5 - $10. Circle Centre charges $20 on game days.

Colts concert. It was all over their facebook; and on their website; as well as the visit Indy website. It is a Friday night on Georgia Street. That is what the OP was asking about. The Colts do have a game two days later on Sunday; which is not what the OP was asking about. I think it goes without saying that would change the tenor of the conversation. I mean.......if you have no idea what the OP is even talking about why bother answering?

He's obviously referring to the Colts Kickoff concert which is Friday night September 6th. It's a free concert by the Gin Blossoms on the west end of Georgia Street. I agree that parking shouldn't be too much of a problem. If the weather is nice, park at White River State Park. It's only 3 or 4 blocks walking to where the concert will be. It's easy to get to. Just take I-65 to West St South. Take a right just before the JW Marriott and take the first right into the underground garage. if you get bored with the concert, you can walk around the park or the canal and you'll already be at your car. The only issue could be I believe the Indians have a home playoff game that night but if you get there early enough, you shouldn't have a problem.

Parking at Circle Centre would be the closest but could be an issue if enough people show up (who knows?) and they may try to charge event parking. You could also try the Government Center garage. At least if they charge event parking, it would be $10 instead of $20 at Circle Centre. Its entrance is on Missouri St. across from the Indiana Convention Center and the JW Marriott.

The Indians have a home playoff game that night, so WRSP may not be the best choice.

Thanks everyone, we're not real familiar with downtown so this helps.

Also note that I-65/70 between the splits closed today for 2 months (basically the short segment on the east side of downtown where I-65 and I-70 overlap). You'll still be able to get into downtown from the interstates, but traffic may be heavier than normal.
