but in order to "work smart", doesn't one have to work hard in order to learn that job? That's my point. If someone comes in and says "I work smart, not hard" ... that's smug and arrogant and probably won't get hired, much less, work out during the probationary period.

I guess I'm bored and ready for a change. I feel like time is running out. I would work in a factory if I could work in a parts room, some place inside the factory where the work isn't so routine and tedious. But to sit or stand at a machine all day or night and do the same thing over and over I ain't gonna do that, unless the bottom falls out of everything and I have no choice.

You are right, I don't work hard. I work smart. There's a big big difference.

Well, i'm not sure what wafer Fab is worth. . .and worth to other employers. Looking at your resume (58 years old without college and only wafer fab experience)

i would say your lucky to do better than wal-mart greeter

of course, I don't know what wafer fab is. Look at other wafer fab places in Indy (or similar) and see if they are hiriing

but based on your education and age. . .what employer would hire you over a recent high school graduate? I don't get it.
