Can anyone recommend an apartment complex close to St. Vincent’s hospital? We will be relocating to Indianapolis in January 2018 for a new job at the hospital so we need to be close by.

Is the area around there safe? Do you get a lot of snow during the winter? (Hence the need to be close to the hospital.)

Are there any areas to avoid?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you're talking about the St Vincent main campus on 86th St, that whole area is filled with apartments. My wife before we were married lived in the Carlton Apartments on Township Line. Not the best and the cheapest attracted some questionable people but she never had any problems living there as a single woman. But there are several apartments along Township Line right there, both sides of 86th St. And all along 86th St. I would think any of them would be fine. Just get some names from Google Maps and the search for reviews.

As for snow, we average about 23 inches of snow per year. Last year was an easy year with barely 10 inches. I don't think the grass in my yard was ever completely covered by snow. This year sounds like it will be closer to normal. Usually we get a couple "big" storms with 4-6 inches of snow and a bunch of smaller 1-2 inch storms.
