We are a family of 4 planning to move to Carmel, IN. I am self-employed, and we are not eligible for any subsidiary.I know starting from 2018 Anthem is not going to sell plans in Indiana for individuals. If we move we have only two options, one is CareSource, and another one is Ambetter. Do you have any bad experience with CareSource or Ambetter?

To the OP: Did you make the move, and what did you find out about health insurance?

We are a family of 4 hoping/planning to make a similar move. We'll need health insurance, and I am trying to get some idea of the monthly premiums for either a PPO-type plan or a Silver (or better) plan under Obamacare.

Anyone have any info they care to share?

You'd probably be best served by going to healthcare.gov and seeing what options are available.

With that said, I was a regular employee of two companies when I lived in Indiana - one was MA based and we had BCBA out of MA. It was the best insurance I've ever had. I was also employed with a local company based in Fishers. I don't remember the carrier, but the insurance was expensive, very high deductible, and generally poor.

Thanks...and you're right! Just after I posted, I tried that, and healthcare.gov has a fairly extensive estimator tool where you can compare plans.

The two carriers that came up for me are CareSource and Ambetter. Anyone have any experience with either of these? Being from California, and only ever having had Kaiser Permanente or Anthem Blue Cross coverage, I've never heard of them.
