Think we had a similar conversation about a year ago. Higher taxes here keep home prices down so it's essentially a wash to live here vs. there. Home prices here are a little cheaper, but taxes are higher. Monthly payment ends up being about the same so flip a coin. Appreciation is the unknown factor.

Home prices are NOT cheaper in Chicago suburbs compared to Indy.

Compared to Carmel, you generally get more bang for your buck here, but the higher taxes make it a wash.

No you don't. Not for comparable suburbs, which would be Naperville as has already been discussed.
