Thank you for taking the time to read my thread and give me advice. My boyfriend and I are moving to Indianapolis in June, he already has a job lined up. I have two things I need help with:

1. Is there a good website to find non-profit jobs? I live in Minnesota right now and use the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits website (mncn.org) and am looking for something similar. I have search, but have only found the nonprofit news website. Does anyone know of any good websites to find nonprofit jobs?

2. We plan on buying a house and are unsure about the different neighborhoods. Right now we live in South Minneapolis, a few blocks from a lake. We would like to find something that is in Indianapolis, is an older home with the built-ins, stained glass, hardwood floors, etc with a decent sized lot, or nearby parks (I have two dogs). We would like a more established, affluent neighborhood that we can walk to nearby stores/bars. We can spend up to $500,000. But would like to stay around $350,000. My boyfriend is working downtown and would love to be able to walk/bike. We don't have any kids now, but plan to.

Thank you in advance for your help!

You will find that Indianapolis housing is some of the most affordable in the country, and like Domergurl said, your price range will get you pretty much anything you want. Try searching online for homes and I bet you will be pleasantly surprised. There are several older, established neighborhoods like you are looking for that will fit the bill. Our local real estate board is called MIBOR (Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors) you can go online to MIBOR.com. I do know the answers to your questions #2, but I know nothing about your job search. Best of luck to you though!

You might look at the Butler-Tarkington area as well.
