Unfortunately, public transit is not one of Indy's strong points-

The only place with decent ... and I use that term lightly ... is NW Indiana with the South Shore Train.

For what it's worth, there's apparently some serious talk about mass transit in Indy...the "fair train line" that runs from Noblesville to the State Fairgrounds is being considered for a mass transit system that would extend into downtown Indy once some gaps are filled. Sounds like it wouldn't be until 2012 though
