I've been trying to call a property mgmt. co. in Indianapolis and the phone keeps getting cut off so I looked on the weather report and it shows thunderstorms. Overnight temps in the 70s! and almost a daily shower with daytime temps high 80s-90

Is this normal for Indiana?

May was one of the hottest in history. This sometimes happens in June, but it's a bit unusual for this time of the year. It's more like August right now.

We had some 70 days in a row in March and April with cool below normal temperatures. We've followed it up with unusually muggy and hot weather in May and June.

Its cooling down. The forecast calls for low to mid 80s for the rest of the week. That's normal summer temperatures. When you get high humidity and temperatures in the 90s then it gets nasty.

That is Indiana for you. I have spent a lot of time in California and Colorado recently and when I fly back to Indiana the humidity and the cloudiness are what I notice.

I’m working in California this week and today it is 95 degrees, but it doesn’t feel miserable like 89 degrees and high humidity when I flew into Indy last week.

What bothers me most about Indiana’s weather is the lack of sunshine. You might not realize it until you live somewhere else but other states don’t have the amount of overcast days that Indiana does.

As a Hoosier who moved away to sunnier climates and then returned, I can't agree with you more. I could handle the cold and snow, but the darkness in winter was simply oppressive.

OP, it's not just Indiana: the whole Midwest summer weather pattern is messed up. We used to not see runs of 90-degree days until late July. June was in the 70s during the daytime; July would make it into the 80s, and then from about July 17 - August 27 or so, Katy bar the door with 90- 100 degree temps, HHH -- hazy, hot, and humid with frequent thunderstorms every 4 - 5 days.

As mentioned, we're getting August weather in June. It's just messed up. I put in a window a/c so I just cool my bedroom at night. It saves some money not cooling the entire house with these 2 - 3 90 degree days in June.

I'm from overly sunny Colorado and don't find a lack of sunshine here. I like the mix of sun and rain. It's all personal preference.

Not really. Its already cooled down into the 70s and low 80s this week. Typical summers in Indiana have enjoyable weather with a heat spell or two mixed in.
