Anyone know a good place to refill propane tanks for a gas grill near the eastside of Indpls?

Most people just exchange the tanks, and usually Sears Hardware or Lowe's are good places for that. If you insist on re-filling a tank, I think some U-Haul locations may do that, but please don't hold me to it.

Marsh, CVS, Ace Hardware and other stores all have loaded tanks. Just bring in your empty and hand them about $20 for a loaded one.

I, like you, don't do the exchange thing. I purchased some tanks from Sam's and keep them in my barn. There are a few places on the east side that fill these tanks:

Dammann's Lawn, Garden, and Landscape center was the cheapest two years ago, though if you have a new tank, they charge for a purge, which is laughable, what whatever.

The other place is a camp ground just inside Hancock Co.. It is the Mt. Comfort Rd. KOA
They are located off 200 North, just east of 600 W.
(Note: 200 North is 30th St. in Marion County, 600 W is a/k/a Mt. Comfort Rd. The camp ground is basically located just SE of the I-70 interchange). They were a little more than Dammann's last I checked. My dad used to go here a lot back in the day:

There is another company up around the south end of Lawrence, they sometimes have coupons that come in the mail. All I know is that one or two years ago, I called around and found Dammann's was the cheapest at that time. (That was when gas prices were high, so prices might be cheaper now).
