Hi

I'm thinking of purchasing a small property in Marion County.

Can anyone give me the lowdown on this area?

Is it a fairly safe area? Near to town?

Is it smart or rundown?

Thanks

There is everything from run down crime ridden dont venture into areas to some high end 2 million plus home areas all within Marion County. If you have to ask such general questions, you are not ready to purchase.

Marion County covers 400 square miles and has nearly one million people living in it.

Can you understand why this question could be construed as vague to some?

Thanks for all your replies. The feedback so far is quite interesting as it gives me a feel for the area. I certainly was not clear how large Marion was.

I guess it's not much different from other areas, including the big cities.

You get some areas which are really nice, up-market, and at the other end, areas which you dare not venture day or night.

I'll try and get some more info.

Thanks

The property is near Washington Street, Indianapolis.
Any feedback on that area would be appreciated.

Washington cuts thru the entire city east to west. Washington Street is what US 40 is called in Indianapolis. Again, not enough information.

ha, it's kind of like the OP has no idea there is an actual city located in Marion County. 'Is Marion County near to town?' Really? I would suggest you maybe start by doing some more research outside of the CD forum first, figure out what part of the city you want to know about, and then ask more specifics here
