Domains are cheap, why not get one with "free" and one without?
If you were going to do that I'd suggest permanent 301 redirect to one of them. You don't want two domains with same content.
Keywords in the domain and the URL can play a small factor in SEO but frankly I wouldn't go with "free".
If this is your first site and/or you're still testing the waters don't get too wrapped up in SEO, concentrate on content. Content is king, if you have good and unique content all else will follow. I'd be aiming for doamin name easily remembered, hard to produce misspelling, preferably short and related to the topic of your site if possible.

Thanks for that good advice. Something short is definetly a plus!
Agree with Coalman. I would avoid the word FREE in the URL. www.free-anything.com sounds sketchy. Period.
Thanks and i agree
