Does anyone know how to do this? I'm trying to 'grab' a few frames from a video (my Dad), but can't figure out how to do it.

Hit the full screen button on the player.

Hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard. It might be labeled "prt scr" or something similar. This will place a screenshot on the clipboard.

Open up paint or other image editor. Using paint once you open paint just click edit>> paste. Save the image.

Default capture video frames

Other than using the Print Screen key, you can also utilize other solutions. If you are using VLC media player, it'll be super easy to get video frames. You can get them in these two ways:
Way One: Click "Video"> "Take Snapshot".
Way Two: Check "Advanced Controls" under "View". Then a camera icon will appear below the video. Pause at the frame you want to screenshot, and click the camera icon.
All the video frame screenshots will be saved to the Pictures library automatically. The image below may help you.

If you don't have VLC media player, you can read this article to learn more methods to capture video frames.

Alt + Print Screen gets you the active window, where Print Screen by itself gets you then entire desktop.
